Nutrition Support for IBS & Crohn's

Find the foods that work for your gut.

IBS and Crohn's affect everyone differently. I help you find your own triggers and build a plan you can stick with, alongside your gastroenterologist, not instead of them.

This is nutrition support and does not replace care from your gastroenterologist.

You've Probably Noticed

Why this is hard to figure out alone

  • You've cut out so many foods, you're not sure what's safe anymore.
  • Generic 'avoid these foods' lists don't match your real triggers.
  • You're scared certain foods will trigger a flare, so you avoid everything.
The Fuel-First Method

A different starting point

Everyone's triggers are different. Instead of generic elimination lists, we find what's actually driving your symptoms. We build sustainable nutrition, including protein and fiber your gut can handle, alongside your gastroenterologist.

What You Get

Built around your real life

Your own triggers

Found through your history, not a generic 'avoid this' list.

Done properly

Support with approaches like low-FODMAP, done in a structured, time-limited way.

Nutrition through flares

A focus on staying nourished while managing symptoms.

Works with your GI team

Fits alongside your GI specialist, not instead of them.

A Closer Look

Understanding IBS & Crohn's

An IBS dietitian helps you find your own food triggers, rather than handing you a generic list of foods to avoid. IBS and Crohn’s affect everyone differently, so a one-size-fits-all elimination list often removes foods that were never actually a problem for you.

Why generic “avoid these foods” lists fall short

Common trigger-food lists are based on averages, not your specific gut. Cutting out foods you don’t actually react to narrows your diet unnecessarily and can make eating feel more stressful, without actually reducing symptoms.

What a structured approach looks like

Approaches like low-FODMAP can help identify real triggers, but they work best done in a structured, time-limited way, not as a permanent restriction. The goal is finding your own list of triggers, then adding foods back where you can.

Staying nourished through flares

During a flare, the goal shifts to staying nourished while managing symptoms, rather than following the same rules that apply on a good day. A flexible plan matters more than a rigid one.

What to expect from an IBS dietitian in Ontario

Working with an IBS dietitian usually starts with a look at your history, your current symptoms, and your goals. From there, you get a written plan built around finding your own triggers. Regular check-ins help track progress. Sessions are available online anywhere in Ontario, or in person in Sudbury.

What progress can look like

Finding your own triggers takes time and usually isn’t a straight line. Nutrition doesn’t work the same way for two different people, so no one can promise a specific result or timeline. What is realistic is a clearer picture of what affects you, and a plan that fits your real triggers instead of a generic list.

Support for IBS and Crohn’s is available online across Ontario, or in person in Sudbury. A free 15-minute call is a low-pressure way to ask questions and see if this is a fit for you.
